README

A NSFW Goat-themed Card Pack. Compatible with Act 1 and 2 and Kaycee's Mod Cards use Decals

Installation

The zip file should be structured in the same way as your Inscryption root directory. Just drop the 'plugin' folder into your Inscryption directory as usual.

The Cards

All the Goats and the Worthy Darkling can be sacrificed to get the Bone Lord Boon. The Darkling works the same way of a Ring Worm, so please don't feed him to those pesky survivors. You can finish Kaycee's Mod by only having this card pack enabled, if you want.

Moving Sigils on the bottom of the Card

Remember that you can move the sigils on the bottom of the cards (so you can actually enjoy the art by editing the community.inscryption.patch.cfg. If you are using r2modman, just go to config editor, go to the community.inscryption.patch.cfg, go to sigils and set both true. If you are doing it manually open the same file with notepad (or better yet: notepad++) and change the value of Merge on Bottom and Remove Patches to True

Suggested Mod

Inscryption High Res ( https://inscryption.thunderstore.io/package/overfall/InscryptionHighRes/ ) is something i would suggest to better appreciate the card's graphics.

Lore

Lore During the early years of 18th Century, a couple of vessels reached the Canadian coasts with the purpose of starting a new colony. Supposedly under the rule of the British Empire, before reaching land the captain died of Scurvy, which caused a conflict in regards of whom should took his mantle between the surviving officers. To get things worse when land was finally sighted one of the vessels partially sank, causing panic and the death of few careless colonists but also the loss of maps and part of the nautical equipment. Regardless of the rough arrival, most of the remaining provisions and living stock were still safe. While the officers debated to where the new colony should have been located, one of the settlers claimed tha they were watched by the natives, as they were evaluating them. Panic quickly spreaded within the other sttlers and part of the crew with the officers barely maintaining their ruleship. The officers knew that there was already a colony in the inlands, and that reaching it before the savages decided to make their move could have been the best way to survive. Unfortunately the lack of maps caused the Settlers and Soldiers to go way off-course, which increased the occurrence of arguments and infights between the officers with the result of the youngest officers shooting the other two in the head for treasom and mutiny. The remaining officer then declared that the new colony would have been founded in the same spot since it was clear that nobody knew which direction to take and where to go. Unknown to many, one of the settlers and his family were all part of an ancient cult, fleeing from the old word where their ancestors were often persecuted during medieval times by the church which wanted to get rid of devil-worshipers and pagan cultures. The Cult of the Bone Lord was a bizarre yet seemingly innocuous religion, mostly involving the sacrifice of goats as ceremeony to propitiate feritlity and a good harvest. Being a religious man, the head of the family took the young officier under his guidance, hoping to find an ally which could have allowed him and his famility to profess their religion. But as the time passed, although the colony at first thrived without much problems, after few years the situation became worse and worse. Winter were harsh and the settlers struggled to cultivate food or to hunt animals and the local natives were mostly neutral if left in peace but refused to help. It was at this time that an unusual solutionw as proposed: the reprise of the CUlt of the Bone Lord and the sacrifice of a Goat to propitiate the next year's harvest. Although many were contrary, no one had much left to oppose when the governor allowed such ceremony within the boundries of the Christian decency. Surprisingly the new year saw the new crop growing healthier than before, which convinced some of the settlers to reconsider their opinions and after few years of prosperity, most of the colony was converted to the cult. But once more, dire times were ahead: no matter what was done, the harvest produced less and less to the point that the settlers were driven by hunger to slay many of the goats supposedly promised to the Bone Lord, and used to feed the starving population. The head of the cult warned that such action would have caused the ire of the Lord, but it was shunned and ignored, but new events awaited the unaware colony. After some time the population became more aggressive but also more keen to fall into debauchery and tefth. The governor was assassinated and unreast caused many to take arms against eachother, often culminating in unreasonalbe fury and savagery. What made things worse was the fact that women started to give birth to distorted creatures, more similar to goats than humans. Seen as a punishment for their ins, many were put out of their misery but many others were abandoned in the forest by their parents. These new creatures easily adapted to their new home and grew stronger and faster. The colony saw a decline to the point that no new human was born at all, but only those which were later renamed as "Children of the Bone Lord". Many of the surviving settlers started to keep these creatures, trying to teach them to become members of their community, but the creatures were too wild to be taught well. The rising of such bizarre creatures also forced the natives nearby to attack the colony trying to root out such corruption, but the successiva massacre scattered alll the surviving Children further into the woods and cause both the Colony and the Natives to vanish. Nowaday some of the Goat-like creatures still roam within the northern lands, hungering for flesh while others adopted a more peacefull lifestyle. The Goats often spy on humans and try to imitate their behavior and in some occasions, they are captured and sold as curiosities in different circuses, freakshows or even brothels.
